Monday, January 4 - Highland had a National Park Ranger, Connie, come to Highland School.  Park Rangers across our nation have noticed a decline in families visiting our national parks.  Connie asked the students to help educate other people about our amazing national parks!

Friday, January 22 - Highland students participated in a registration event for the upcoming Junior Ranger Convention in February.  Each national park had a booth set up at which students were welcomed and given a name tag with their storyline names for the convention.  The kids then broke into groups lead by a Highland teacher serving the role of Senior Ranger to explore a new park.  The groups will be studying different aspects of the parks such as geology, plants and animals over the next weeks.  Here are some pictures of the event!
