About the Giving Campaign

The Highland PTO is responsible, with your help, for enriching the educational experience of our children. 100% of the money raised goes directly to providing services and supplies for Highland students and programs.

  • In 2008, the PTO Board decided to change fundraising strategies and moved from a multi-event strategy to a single Fall fundraiser, the Giving Campaign.

  • The Giving Campaign runs from September 1st-November 30th of each school year.

  • Donations are tax-deductible thanks to our PTO non-profit status.

How much do we need to raise?

This year's Giving Campaign goal is $55,000

At a suggested donation of $150 per child, it is less than $1 a school day to provide our enhanced Storyline programming. 

100% of Storyline is funded by the PTO and nearly 70% of the budget supports Storyline-related activities.

Where does the money go?

100% of the money goes directly to providing services and supplies for Highland students and programs. 

70% of funds go to support Storyline Delivery & Development – providing consultants and curriculum planning, field trips, release time for planning days, training, and classroom materials. 

27% of funds go to support Connecting Families and Building Community – providing funding for the Positive Behavior Intervention & Support (PBIS) program, mileage club, scholarships, playground equipment, teacher appreciation, community events and operating expenses. 

3% of funds go to support Academic Program Enhancement – providing additional funds for science, reading, speech, PE, art, music, technology, and special education materials. 

How Can You Help?

There are a variety of ways you can support students through the Giving Campaign:​

  1. Make a monetary donation of any amount. No amount is too small; every donation makes a difference. 

  2. Invite family and friends to contribute individually or as a business donor.

  3. Business donors can also contribute via the PTO website as well. 

  4. Send names and contact information to us and we will contact them on your behalf (email: gc@highlandpto.org)

Ask if your employer matches donations to non-profit organizations. Employer matching is an EASY way for you to help Highland raise money.

To find out if your employer has a matching policy, contact your human resources department. It may be as easy as filling out an online form that takes 5-10 minutes, which could then double your contribution!
